Manila Mayor Honey Lacuna-Pangan expressed gratitude to the firefighters in the city for its efforts in serving the community as the Manila Fire District celebrated its 121st anniversary on Monday, August 8.
"No noble thing can be done without risks, and you are always willing to take the risk, there are times, you are even doing the ultimate sacrifice in order to save others," the mayor said.
"We in the city government of Manila are truly grateful with all your noble contribution; your help goes beyond a firefighter," she added.
Also present in the event were Department of the Interior and Local Government Secretary Benjamin Abalos Jr. and Bureau of Fire chief FDir. Louie Puracan Ceo VI.
Meanwhile, F/SSupt. Crossbee Gumowang also presented his future plans for the Manila Fire District, including the acquisition of equipment and adoption of online frontline service.
The Manila Fire District is now composed of a total of 407 firemen and women.
