ILOILO CITY – Police Brig. Gen. Flynn Dongbo has stepped down as Western Visayas police chief.
The Philippine National Police (PNP) headquarters in Camp Crame, Quezon City has issued an order to Dongbo to step down as director of the Police Regional Office (PRO)-6 effective Monday, August 8.
Police Lt. Col. Arnel Solis, PRO-6 spokesman, confirmed that Dongbo has been transferred to the PNP Directorate for Logistics.
Dongbo was top cop of the region comprised of Aklan, Antique, Capiz, Guimaras, Iloilo, and Negros Occidental as well as the highly urbanized cities of Iloilo and Bacolod for less than a year.
He was assigned as PRO-6 director early last November. He replaced Brig. Gen. Rolando Miranda who retired.
During Dongbo’s term, two of the region’s No. 1 most wanted persons were arrested and in the first six months of this year, suspected shabu and marijuana valued at an estimated P139.7-million were seized, an increase of 60 percent.
Dongbo was replaced by Police Brig. Gen. Leo Francisco, formerly of the Manila Police District. No turnover of command has been set.
