Super Junior members arrived in Manila on Aug. 5 for their “Super Show 9: Road in Manila” that was originally scheduled on Aug. 6 at the SM Mall of Asia Arena.

However, it was announced by Label SJ, the group’s agency, on Aug. 5 that the father of Super Junior member Eunhyuk passed away.

Super Junior arrived in Manila without Eunhyuk and Siwon, who tested positive for Covid-19 on Aug. 3. Even without Siwon, Super Junior members were planning to hold the Manila concert.

Super Junior still met fans at the venue on Aug. 6.

“Due to an unexpected event from the artists, Super Junior World Tour-Super Show 9: Road in Manila has been postponed,” according to an announcement posted by Pulp Live World, the concert’s promoter in Manila.

It added, “Detailed explanation on ticket and new show schedule will be announced in upcoming days. We ask for your understanding with this notice and sincerely appreciate your patience.”

Happee Sy-Go of Pulp Live World also tweeted, “To my dearest ELFs, thank you for your trust. No loss can compensate for a bleeding sapphire blue heart. I’m grateful that ours still beats to the same drum since SS2. You are all so special! May you all stay healthy as I find us all another date to be together. #SS9inManila.”

“Sana makita kita ulit ,” Yesung, a member of Super Junior, posted on Twitter.

After Eunhyuk’s father passed away, Label SJ announced, “First of all, after many long discussions between the promoter and SUPER JUNIOR members, we both agreed that it will be difficult to properly hold as scheduled.”

“However, the members wanted to meet and greet the fans who came to MANILA to attend the concert, so we'd like to ask everyone with tickets to enter the concert venue on time. We ask for your kind understanding, and detailed explanation on ticket and schedule will be announced soon. Thank you,” it said.
