Cop in PDEA’s drug watchlist nabbed in Camarines Sur buy-bust


Government anti-narcotics operatives arrested a police sergeant whose name is included in the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) high-value target list in a buy-bust in Camarines Sur on Sunday, Aug. 7.

PDEA Regional Office V Regional Director Gil Pabilonia said Police Master Sgt. (PCMS) Romeo Penolio Jr, 43, was nabbed at around 7:30 a.m. in Barangay Pinit, Ocampo town.

Authorities mapped out a plan after receiving tips from their informants that led to Penolio’s apprehension and confiscation of several plastic sachets containing 10 grams of shabu, buy-bust money, two mobile phones, a motorcycle, a 9mm Glock-17 pistol and various drug paraphernalia.

The operation was led by the teams of PDEA Provincial Officer Mark Anthony Viray, PDEA Camarines Sur Provincial Office Ronald Allan Bico and the Philippine National Police (PNP) groups of Maj. Jorden Gutay, Maj. Jan King Calipay and Maj. Reynaldo Balindan.
