BAY, Laguna – A couple was arrested and P120,000 worth of suspected shabu was seized in a buy-bust operation here Saturday, August 6.
Police identified the suspects as Regin Bangay, 37, construction worker, and his live-in partner, Jacquelyn Tobias, 32, residents of Barangay Tranca Grand Villa, this town.
The Bay Municipal Police Station led by Police Major Jameson Aguilar conducted the operation at 9:25 p.m. in coordination with the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) Region 4-A.
Suspects were arrested after they sold a sachet of shabu to a police poseur-buyer.
Twelve sachets of shabu valued at P120,000 were confiscated from the suspects.
Bangay had been arrested twice, in 2013 and 2019 in a drug buy-bust operation in Calauan, this province.
Suspects are now in the custody of Bay police station while charges for violation of Sections 5 and 11 of the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2022 or Republic Act 9165 will be filed against them.
