Blacklist shrugs off pressure ahead of MPL S10, Sibol commitments

Blacklist International had been through countless tension-packed moments during their dominant run last year that pressure could be factored out from the team's upcoming campaigns.

Blacklist head coach Kristoffer “Bon Chan is confident that his crew had enough experience to handle such kind of ordeals especially now that they are back in full strength with the return of the dynamic duo of Jonmar “OhmyV33nus” Villaluna and Danerie “Wise” Del Rosario for the MPL Philippines Season 10 and in the IESF WE championships.

“Sanay na sanay na sila pagdating sa ganiyan. Mataas ang expectations ng mga fans para sa team namin pero yung pressure na ‘yun, ‘yun ‘yung nagpapalakas sa kanila e,” said Bon Chan during the Blacklist season launch event at the SM Mall of Asia Music Hall on Saturday, Aug. 6.

“Siguro marami na kaming napagdaanan na mas matitinding pressure kagaya nung nasa MPL na nasa lower bracket kami na wala kaming second chance para matalo ulit. Yun siguro yung pinakamatinding pressure na naranasan namin and masasabi ko lang is sanay na sanay na tayo pagdating sa pressure. Kaya na nila i-handle ‘yan,” said Bon Chan referring to their title run in the MPL PH Season 8.

Blacklist also had shown nerves of steel even in the grandest stage when it crawled its way from the lower bracket to the grand finals and even won the M3 World Championship.

While shrugging off the pressure, Bon Chan said they are up for a tough competition for Season 10 which is set to fire off next weekend.

“Lahat ng teams (are threat). Nagsitaas na lahat ng standards ng mga team simula nung makuha namin yung back-to-back, the nag M3 pa. Nakuha yung world champion sa M3. Lahat ng team ay magiging threat na para sa amin.”
