The Department of Health (DOH) logged more than 4,000 new Covid-19 cases on Saturday, Aug. 8.
Based on the latest data of DOH, a total of 4,328 more people were found positive with Covid-19.
These infections brought the number of active cases nationwide to 37,344.
The top regions with the most number of cases in the recent two weeks were the National Capital Region (NCR) with 15,140, Calabarzon with 10,005, Central Luzon with 4,960, Western Visayas with 2,709, and Central Visayas with 2,117.
Last Aug. 5, DOH Officer-in-Charge Maria Rosario Vergeire said that Metro Manila and Cordillera Administrative Region are now both under the moderate-risk classification for Covid-19.
The other regions in the country still remain at low risk classification, said Vergeire.
The Philippines' cumulative tally of cases is at 3.79 million, with 3.70 million recoveries, and 60,789 deaths.
