There are many reasons to watch the forthcoming romantic comedy series "What We Could Be" which premieres on GMA Telebabad on August 15. And definitely a factor is the onscreen chemistry between the two lead stars Ysabel Ortega and Miguel Tanfelix.
The two have been christened by diehard fans as YsaGuel and they insist that there is more going on between the two than just their professional interactions. During the special press screening of "What We Could Be" in the past week, reporters saw for themselves how supportive YsaGuel are of each other that we can almost believe there is at least MU (Mutual Understanding) going on between the two of them.
Miguel admitted that he had a crush on Ysabel "because any guy ought to admire her."
"I put a rule on myself that I should be inspired whenever I work and thankfully, there's Ysabel to give me inspiration," the 23-year-old actor declared.
Earlier, Ysabel's mother - Michelle Ortega - confirmed that Miguel was courting her daughter and she was vocal about her preference that the two give priority to their career first.
Ysabel could only say that she was very happy to be in her first lead role in the series with Miguel by her side. Apart from 'What We Could Be,' their team-up can also be seen in "Voltes V: Legacy" which will be shown also on GMA next year.
"We always had full taping days in 'What We Could Be' because of the number of scenes we had to shoot but honestly, I did not feel drained at all. I just really love what I'm doing and I fell in love with my character Cynthia. I enjoyed the role and I found it very fulfilling," Ysabel stated.
Having watched the pilot episode of 'What We Could Be" under the expert direction of Jeffrey Jeturian, we daresay that Ysabel is an actress to watch. We like the natural range of emotions she conveys which makes the series very heartwarming. The singing diva Celeste Legaspi is also a revelation as aunt Onor, mainly because we haven't seen Celeste in a long while.
With Miguel as Franco, another young actor Yasser Marta acts as a third wheel, portraying the role of Lucas in the series. The three of them are supported by a formidable supporting cast which includes Joyce Burton, Soliman Cruz, Aleck Bovick, Bimbo Bautista Art Acuña and Joel Saracho. Also participating are Sparkle stars Vince Crisostomo, Pam Prinster, Lia Salvador, and EJ Jallorina.
"What We Could Be" is the first collaboration between the Kapuso network and Quantum Films headed by its COO, Atty. Joji Alonso. Quantum is known for producing quality movies like Ang Babae sa Septic Tank and English Only, Please
