Over 1,000 Caloocan City residents hired in local recruitment activity

A total of 1,109 residents in Caloocan City were hired for different jobs through the Public Employment Service Office's (PESO) local recruitment activity, the city government announced on Thursday, August 4.

In partnership with different private companies in the city such as fast food and business process outsourcing, the total number of residents were hired in the first month of Mayor Dale Gonzalo "Along" Malapitan's term.

The local government said the PESO aims to provide 10,000 job opportunities for the city residents, including college and high school graduates, as well as working students.

Our hiring programs in Caloocan will be continuous. Following Mayor Along's directive to help the people of Caloocan to earn an income, we will try to accommodate those who want to apply, cooperate with companies and conduct job fairs so that more of our fellow residents can find work),” PESO Officer-in-charge Violeta Gonzales said.

Malapitan thanked the PESO for its dedication and response to his directive.

He also encouraged the residents to take the opportunity to earn a stable income amid the pandemic.

I know that many are looking for work nowadays. We will find opportunities and bring them closer to the Batang Kankaloo)," Malapitan said.

For the month of August, the recruitment activity is scheduled every Thursday at the PESO, located at the third floor of the Caloocan City Hall-North, and every Friday at the PESO (sixth floor) in Caloocan City Hall-South, the local government said.

Applicants should bring their updated resume, valid identification card as proof of their residence, and vaccination card, it added.
