DPWH Secretary Manuel Bonoan said the structure is being built inside the Dingalan Feeder Port in Barangay Paltic. It has a project cost of P47.53 million.

The DPWH Aurora district engineering office is overseeing the construction of the project which seeks to protect the communities from coastal flooding.

“The flood control structure will complement the existing concrete seawall at the feeder port in protecting residents from flooding and rising sea levels especially during the typhoon season,” Bonoan said.

The DPWH chief added that the 355-linear meter flood control structure will replace the old and deteriorating gabion retaining walls inside the port that have been damaged by strong storms over the years.

A project groundbreaking ceremony was held recently which was attended by District Engineer Roderick A. Andal and Aurora Lone District Representative Rommel Rico Angara.

Bonoan said the target completion of the project is by March 2023.
