MTRCB on 'Maid In Malacañang:' 'It does not purport to be a documentary'

The Movie and Television Review and Classification Board (MTRCB) as led by its chair, Lala Sotto, released a statement recently concerning Darryl Yap's "Maid In Malacañang."

It confirmed that it has reviewed the motion picture and that it has been given a Parental Guidance (PG) classification.

It explained, "A PG classification means that a motion picture may contain themes that require parental supervision and guidance."

It added, "We also note that the said motion picture is a dramatization of the last seventy-two hours of the Marcos family in the Palace in 1986 and does not purport to be a documentary."

The statement was disseminated Thursday, a day after the film opened in theaters.

Note that its teaser has caused huge commotion in social media, with fans arguing about several scenes contained therein.
