Benguet logs second highest revenue among 10 provinces in fiscal year 2020-2021 – BLGF


LA TRINIDAD, Benguet – Benguet generated the second highest revenue out of ten provinces identified by the Bureau of Local Government Finance (BLGF) as having significant earnings for fiscal year 2020-2021.

Benguet is known as the top producer of highland vegetables and has the most mining companies in the country.

BLGF announced the list of National Top Performing Provinces, Cities, and Municipalities in Local Revenue Generation for the Fiscal Year 2021 Tuesday, August 2.

The list recognized their exemplary efforts and performance toward sustainable growth and effective local financial management.

Based on the 2021 Locally Sourced Revenues (LSR), Benguet posted a 67.9 percent increase in earnings from P407.15 million in 2020 to P683.65 million the next year.

Benguet Gov. Melchor Diclas recognized the effort and friendship of the staff at the Provincial Treasury Office and all the offices involved in the collection of fees and charges.

This is the result of unity, Diclas said.

Diclas said that they will continue to cooperate in putting more effort to maintain or even improve its performance in revenue generation.
