School employee nabbed for pocketing tuition in Imus, Cavite


IMUS CITY, Cavite – An employee of a private school in Barangay Malagasang II-A here was arrested after collecting and stealing the tuition of a student on Monday, August 1.

Imus City Police Station (CPS) identified the suspect as Lynbert M. Hidalgo, 37 years old, who works as a collector and maintenance personnel for the school.

The investigation report showed that Hidalgo allegedly asked a student's parent to send tuition amounting to P8,000 to his personal GCash account without the school management's knowledge and permission.

Investigator-on-case S/Sgt. Roy Vincent Reyes told the Manila Bulletin that the management learned about the incident when the parent posted the proof of payment on their group chat.

The school's head teacher immediately alerted the authorities which led to the suspect's arrest.

Hidalgo is under the custody of Imus CPS and is facing qualified theft charges.
