The group reportedly shared with the chief executive its insights on how the country can modernize its farming techniques to help farmers get better crop yield.

As such, the SINAG gave suggestions on how to help farmers in terms of credit, comprehensive insurance, and investments.

“The President is thankful as private organizations actively show their support to the government,” the Office of the President said in a Twitter post on Tuesday, August 2.

No further details about the meeting have been provided so far.

To recall, Marcos said that he wants to increase the production of rice and corn in the country and improve the production of other agricultural products such as pork and chicken.

The chief executive, during the election campaign, said he is eyeing to bring down the price of rice to P20 per kilo.
