A 67-year-old woman died after she was trapped inside her burning house in Purok 2, Barangay San Marcos, Calumpit, Bulacan on Sunday, July 31.
Based on a report by the Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP), Col. Charlie A. Cabradilla, acting Bulacan police director, identified the fatality as Leah M. Regalado.
Cabradilla said four houses were gutted by the fire that started before 10 p.m. on Sunday. It rapidly spread as the houses were made of light materials and reached the third alarm. It was placed under control at about 12:30 a.m. on Aug. 1.
Damage to property was estimated at P400,000.
As of this writing, the BFP is still investigating the cause of the fire.
