Tuguegarao Mayor Que catches Covid

TUGUEGARAO CITY – Mayor Maila Rosario S. Ting-Que here tested positive for Covid-19, the City Information Office reported Sunday, July 31.

She took an antigen test last Thursday which came out negative.

Due to her progressive symptoms, she isolated herself the whole day, Saturday, July 30.

Her results came out Sunday which showed a positive outcome.

In a Facebook post, she said: “All the health protocols are in place and we have already commenced with the contact tracing. Instructions for the disinfection of the Mayor’s Office and the common areas of the City Hall have been done as well.”

She apologized for the inconvenience her situation may bring to the people.

Que was in close contact with people dealing with her.

“We ask those that have not yet been called or believe themselves to have been in close contact with me the past few days to contact Dr. James Guzman at 09175781029 for any concerns you might have for symptoms and testing.”

The city government said transactions at the city government remain normal.

But she said the city will be stricter in the observance of the minimum health protocol as prescribed by the Inter-Agency Task Force.

The Office of the City Mayor assured that they will continue providing services to the people.

Que was isolated but continues to work.

“I will perform my duties and responsibilities remotely,” she said.

She reminded everyone to remain careful and observant of health and safety protocols.

A press conference regarding the Pavvurulun Afi Festival was held at the City Hall with the mayor and local media.

Those who had been in close contact with the mayor were requested and advised to get in touch with Guzman or the City Health Office for any concerns.
