Groundbreaking for chapel destroyed by ‘Odette’ held


Puerto Princesa, Palawan Bishop Socrates Mesiona led the recent groundbreaking rites for the building of a chapel in Sitio Anilawan, Bgy. Babuyan, Puerto Princesa, Palawan.

The chapel was among a number of structures that were severely damaged by typhoon Odette that hit the province in December 2021.

The project is a joint venture of the Apostolic Vicariate of Puerto Princesa and Caritas Manila, the social action arm of the Manila archdiocese that seeks to provide for the faithful of Sitio Anilawan, Bgy. Babuyan, is a place of worship.

Rev. Fr. Christian Sabili, parish priest of San Isidro Labrador Parish, which has jurisdiction over the area, has expressed his gratitude and gladness over the project.

Bishop Mesiona earlier shared the ongoing construction of a housing project of the Apostolic Vicariate of Puerto Princesa (AVPP) for the calamity survivors of Odette in the town of Langogan, Puerto Princesa.
