'The dream of a Tiger economy lives on'–Villanueva bids late Fidel Ramos farewell


Senator Joel Villanueva says that the late Fidel Ramos' dream of a "Tiger Economy" lives on in the hearts of Filipinos, even after the latter's passing.

"We join the rest of the nation in mourning the passing of former President Fidel V. Ramos ," Villanueva said, Sunday, July 31.

The 12th President of the Philippines, Ramos, at the ripe old age of 94, passed away on Sunday afternoon, July 31 at the Makati Medical Center.

"Pres. FVR will always be remembered for leading the nation into the new millennium. His dream of turning the country into a “Tiger Economy” will always stay alive in the hearts of every Filipino. His iconic thumbs up sign and his “Kaya Natin” mentality will continue to give us inspiration to push for progress in our country," Villanueva said.

"We would also like to extend our condolences to the family of our dear former president. Rest in peace and God bless you, FVR," he concluded.
