18-year-old female student caught with nearly P400,000 shabu in Taguig  


An 18-year-old female student was arrested while a 17-year-old boy was rescued by the police during a buy-bust operation in Taguig on July 29.

Southern Police District director Brig. Gen. Jimili Macaraeg identified the suspect as Pahayma Lumawan, a student.

Lumawan was arrested when the Taguig police’s Drug Enforcement Unit conducted a buy-bust operation on Punzalan Street, Road 10 in Barangay New Lower Bicutan, Taguig.

The police recovered six plastic sachets containing suspected shabu (methamphetamine hydrochloride) weighing 58.6 grams with a value of P398,480, and P500 buy-bust money.

Lumawan will be charged with violation of Republic Act 9165 (Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002).

She is detained at the custodial facility of Taguig police while the rescued minor was turned over to Bahay Pag-asa for proper disposition.

The drugs were turned over to the SPD Forensic Unit for chemical analysis.

“Ngayon ay isa na namang magandang accomplishment ang nagawa ng ating mga operatiba. Ibig sabihin lang nito ay mahigpit ang aming kampanya laban sa ilegal na droga, maliit man o malaking halaga, lahat nang sangkot ay hindi makakaligtas sa batas (This time another good accomplishment was done by our operatives. This means that our campaign is strict against illegal drugs, whether small or big amount. All those involved cannot evade the law)," said Macaraeg.
