DepEd: Over 9 million learners enrolled for SY 2022-2023 so far


There are now more than nine million enrolled learners for the school year 2022-2023, the Department of Education (DepEd) announced on Friday, July 29.

Latest data from the Learning Information System (LIS) showed that as of 7 a.m. on Friday, a total of 9,192,331 individuals have enrolled for the upcoming academic year. Of the enrolled students, 608,114 were kindergarten, 4,279,600 elementary students, 2,965,068 junior high school, and 1,339,519 were senior high school learners.

“Pinakamarami ang nakapagtala sa CALABARZON na umabot sa 1,596,668 na sinusundan ng National Capital Region (NCR) 1,389,331, at Central Luzon 963,494 (The highest number of enrolled was in CALABARZON which reached 1,596,668 followed by NCR with 1,389,331, and Central Luzon with 963,494 enrollees),” said DepEd.

Of the regions in the Philippines, Cordillera Administrative Region (CAR) has the so far lowest number of enrolled students with a tally of 41,236.

The enrollment period for SY 2022-2023 began on Monday, July 25. It will then run until Aug 22, 2022 – the first day of classes for the forthcoming academic year.

Parents and guardians, on the other hand, may enroll their children by means of the following methods: in-person enrollment, remote enrollment, and dropbox enrollment. Learners who wish to enroll themselves may do so, said DepEd, given that their Enhanced Basic Education Enrollment Form were signed by their parent or legal guardian.
