5 arrested in Cebu City drug den raid


CEBU CITY – Government anti-narcotics agents raided and dismantled a suspected drug den in Barangay Carreta here Wednesday, July 27.

The Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency-Central Visayas (PDEA 7) arrested the joint’s alleged maintainers – Jimboy Peñas, 25, and Elñino Rosal, 20.

Three other persons were arrested after they were caught inside the drug den. They were Alfonso Pera, 37; John Paul M. Sambrano, 26; and Alladin Villegas, 44.

Confiscated during the operation were 10 packs of suspected shabu worth P74,800.

PDEA 7 information officer Leia Alcantara said that seven drug dens in this city have been dismantled this month.

“Dismantling drug dens is very crucial in our war against illegal drugs,” said Alcantara.

In another anti-illegal drug operation, an ex-convict was arrested after selling suspected shabu to a poseur-buyer here Thursday, July 28.

Jesus Hermosora Belamia yielded packs of suspected shabu valued at P2.9 million in Barangay Mambaling.

Police said Belamia was listed a high-value individual in the Region 7’s list of suspected drug peddlers.
