Anti-narcotics cops seize P408M worth of shabu in Pampanga buy-bust


Anti-narcotics operatives of the Philippine National Police (PNP) seized more than P400 million worth of shabu in a buy-bust in San Fernando, Pampanga on Thursday, July 28.

The operation resulted in the arrest of suspected big-time trafficker Hernani Cosumo, according to PNP officer-in-charge Police Lt. Gen. Vicente Danao, Jr.

Danao said the operation was carried out after a poseur buyer from the PNP Drug Enforcement Group was able to negotiate with the 31-year old Cosumo for a large quantity of shabu.

PDEG director Police Brig. Gen. Randy Peralta said the buy-bust was conducted at around 2 p.m. in Barangay San Felipe in San Fernando.

Seized from Cosumo were more or less 60 kilos of shabu with a street value of P408 million, a cellular phone, a van, assorted identification cards and documents and the boodle money used in the operation.

Cosumo is now under the custody of PDEG and is facing violation of the Republic Act 9165.
