6 more countries placed under 'high' risk category for travel by CDC

Six more places were added by the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) to the "high" risk category for travel on Monday, July 26.

Among the destinations that received a Level 3 “high” risk designation includes Bangladesh, Bosnia and Herzegovina, El Salvador, Fiji, Honduras, and Poland.

Places under Level 3 means it has more than 100 new cases over the past 28 days per 100,000 population.

Meanwhile, places with moderate covid risk will be placed under Level 2 while those with low covid risk will be designated to Level 1.

CDC updated its Covid-19 Travel Health Notices last April 18, making the Level 3 as the highest risk category for travel.

Originally the highest category, Level 4 is now for “special circumstances, such as rapidly escalating case trajectory or extremely high case counts, emergence of a new variant of concern, and healthcare infrastructure collapse.”
