Parañaque LGU suspends work at city hall


Parañaque City Mayor Eric Olivarez ordered the suspension of work at the city hall after the 7.0 magnitude earthquake hit Abra and parts of Luzon including Metro Manila.

All employees were immediately ordered to evacuate when the earthquake occurred and they stayed at the city hall quadrangle.

Olivarez ordered the suspension of work at about 9:30 a.m. to give way to rapid damage assessment and needs analysis inspection conducted by the Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (DRRMO) and Engineering Office. All physical transactions at the city hall were also suspended.

The mayor said the suspension of work at the city hall was implemented for the safety of all employees and the transacting public.

He also ordered the inspection of all schools and buildings in the city.
