Minor injuries for 5 locals, slight damage reported at quake's epiceter in Abra

As the public raises concerns for the residents of Langangilang, Abra which is the epicenter of the 7.3 magnitude quake on Wednesday morning, July 27, the town police chief revealed that there were only minor damage in some structures in the area.

One of them, according to Langangilang Municipal Police Station chief of police Lt. Boyd Kiss-ing, was the police station which he said has some slight damage.

“Here in Langangilang, we received reports of damage but all of them are slight. The earthquake was really strong here,” said Kiss-ing in an interview over dzBB.

As of Wednesday morning, Kiss-ing said there were still strong aftershocks.

The official said at least five people were injured based on the initial report they received. He, however, said all the victims suffered minor injuries.

Kiss-ing said that the earthquake cut the power supply of the town but efforts are now being done to restore it in the soonest possible time.

He said they are coordinating with the local government unit to monitor and conduct assessment in all the barangays of the town.
