A string of criminal charges will be filed against Chao Tiao Yumul on Monday, July 25, in connection with the Sunday shooting in Ateneo de Manila University that left a former mayor of Lamitan City in Basilan and two others dead.
Police Lt. Gen. Vicente Danao, Jr., officer-in-charge of the Philippine National Police (PNP), also ordered the police commanders who have jurisdiction near Ateneo to explain why the incident happened.
“He (Yumol) will be inquested today (July 25) and justice will be served,” said Danao in his message during the Monday Flag-Raising Ceremony at Camp Crame in Quezon City.
Yumol was arrested on board a stolen car while on his way to escape.
