Olympic figure skating gold medalist Kim Yuna to marry singer 


South Korean Kim Yuna, who won the gold medal in figure skating at the 2010 Winter Olympics in Canada, surprised fans by announcing that she is getting married to a singer later this year.

The 31-year-old celebrity and endorser will marry 27-year-old singer Ko Woorim, a member of the crossover male group Forestella.

The revelation came after a Korean news outlet The Fact posted dating photos of Kim Yuna and Ko Woorim and reported that the two will be getting married this year.

After the news report came out, Beat Interactive, Ko Woorim’s agency, announced that the two will be getting married.

"Ko Woorim and Kim Yuna will hold their wedding ceremony in October. They first met during 'All That Skating Ice Show' held in 2018, and they've been dating for three years," it said, SBS News reported.

Beat Interactive added, "The wedding will be held privately with the couple's family members and close acquaintances. We ask for your understanding on not disclosing the specific date and venue of the wedding."

Kim Yuna is one the most beloved celebrities in South Korea. She won the gold medal in figure skating in the 2010 Winter Olympics and a silver medal in the 2014 Winter Olympics in Russia.

She came first in the 2009 and 2013 World Figure Skating Championships.
