Fruit vendor yields P374,000 shabu in Laguna buy-bust


KAMPO HENERAL PACIANO RIZAL, Sta. Cruz, Laguna – A 29-year-old fruit vendor considered as a high-value individual in the illegal drugs trade was arrested in a buy-bust operation in Barangay Concepcion, San Pablo City, this province, Monday, July 25.

Police Col. Cecilio R. Ison Jr., Laguna police chief, identified the suspect as Mark Aljon Sadsad Diola of Barangay Sta. Catalina Sur, Candelaria, Quezon.

The San Pablo City Police Station headed by Police Lt. Col. Joewie B. Lucas and Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) Region 4-A arrested the suspect at 12:53 a.m. Seized from him were heat-sealed transparent plastic sachets containing suspected shabu weighing 55 grams with estimated Dangerous Drug Board value of P374,000, the buy-bust money, cash, and a red plastic container.

Diola was arrested after police received information about the suspect’s illegal drug activities in the area.

Suspect is detained at San Pablo City police station and will be charged for violation of Republic Act (RA) No. 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drug Act of 2002.
