Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA) Director General Danilo Cruz has expressed his desire for the agency to provide more training that will improve the economic and social standing of the Filipino workforce.
He said this during his first flag raising ceremony as the TESDA Director General at the agency's Brick Plaza in Taguig City on Monday, July 25.
In a Facebook post, TESDA said, Cruz also emphasized a decentralization of TESDA functions towards the agency's Regional, Provincial and District offices, and that to maintain public trust, all TESDA transactions must be transparent.
"DG Cruz also said that a more united brand of public service must be demonstrated at all levels of the organization," read the post.
TESDA said Cruz also said that a merit and promotion board must "immediately be organized in every TESDA Regional Office to further ensure that the filling of vacant positions and personnel promotion are truly based on performance and qualifications." Cruz, meantime, thanked President Ferdinand "Bongbong" Marcos Jr. for having appointed him as the head of the agency.
He said he is grateful for the chance to help pursue the mission of TESDA, "to serve the Filipino people better, and to contribute to the realization of the President's dream of a better life for our kababayans."
