Fake NBI agent nabbed in Nueva Vizcaya for homicide


CAMP SATURNINO DUMLAO, Bayombong, Nueva Vizcaya – Police arrested Thursday, July 21 in Aritao, this province, a 53-year-old man who posed as a National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) agent for a homicide case in Nueva Ecija a year ago.

Police Col. Ranser Evasco, Nueva Vizcaya police chief, identified the suspect as Francisco Agustin Tabila, alias “Francis,” of Purok 1, Barangay San Juan, Licab, Nueva Ecija.

Tabila allegedly shot a man named Ronel Alfaro, 47, of Bongabon, Nueva Ecija during a heated argument in July last year.

Alfaro sustained a bullet wound and taken to a hospital where he died.

Police said the suspect was arrested after almost a year of hiding.

He was charged with homicide and is currently in the custody of the Aritao police station for documentation and investigation.
