14 human trafficking victims rescued, five suspects arrested in Angeles City


PAMPANGA -- At least 14 individuals were rescued from the clutches of five human traffickers who were arrested during separate entrapment and rescue operations in Balibago, Angeles City on Thursday, July 21.

Joint elements of Regional Anti-Trafficking in Persons Task Group 3, together with Angeles City Police Station 4, Regional Maritime Unit 3, Regional Mobile Force Battalion 3, and the Department of Labor and Employment 3 conducted an entrapment and rescue operation inside Club 123 located at Walking Streets, Fields Avenue, Brgy. Balibago, Angeles City.

Authorities were able to arrest two pimps identified as Marites Dela Peña, 56, resident of Mt. View, Balibago, Angeles City, and Beverly Tangcomoan, 34, resident of Brgy. Feliza St., Malabanias, Angeles City.

The raiders at the same time rescued two female victims who were recruited to offer sexual services to foreign nationals.

At Bacarra Bar also in Walking Streets, Fields Avenue in Brgy. Balibago, raiders were able to arrest three human traffickers who tried to victimize 12 females.

Arrested during a entrapment and rescue operation were Minjae Yim, male, 38, a Korean and currently residing at 21-20 Rivera Lim G. Diamond Subd. Balibago, Angeles City; Arelida Cañete Ybañez, 40, of Brgy. 104 J De Guzman St. Balibago, Angeles City; and Daisy Ranola, 35.

The police are readying cases against the suspects for violating RA 9208 as amended by RA 10364 and RA 7610.
