P3-M marijuana plants destroyed in Kalinga


TABUK CITY, Kalinga – Authorities uprooted and burned 15,000 fully grown marijuana plants (FGMJP) valued at P3 million in four plantations from July 19 to 21 in Barangay Buscalan, Tinglayan, Kalinga.

These FGMJP planted in 1,500-square meters of land were destroyed by the Kalinga Police Provincial Office, Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency-Cordillera, and Naval Forces Northern Luzon in a three-day eradication operation under “Implan: Man-gabut.”

Meanwhile, the Tabuk City Police Station arrested a 20-year-old student in a buy-bust operation in Purok 6, Bulanao Centro, Tabuk City, Kalinga.

The suspect was identified as Selly Marie Kitongan Canao, alias “Blessy,” of Ileb Nambaran, Tabuk City.

Canao was a high value individual and considered one of the regional Top 10 drug personality.

She was placed under surveillance after police received reports on her illegal drug activities.

A buy-bust operation was conducted, resulting in her arrest. Seized from her was a heat-sealed transparent plastic sachet containing suspected shabu weighing five grams and worth P34,000.
