P1.19-M shabu seized, 2 drug pushers fall in Iloilo City buy-bust


ILOILO CITY – Police seized P1.19-million worth of suspected shabu from two alleged drug pushers in a buy-bust operation in Barangay San Antonio, Molo district here before dawn Friday, July 22.

The Police Regional Office (PRO)-6 identified the suspects as Jejomar Benosa Pineda and Michael Jaynos Capero.

The suspects were arrested after they sold shabu to a police poseur-buyer. Recovered from the suspects were recovered 175 grams of shabu valued at P1.19 million.

The 27-year-old Pineda and 34-year-old Capero are considered as high-valued drug suspects and they do not have any jobs.

Police conducted surveillance against the suspects prior to their arrest.

“May their arrest serve as a stern warning to individuals that still engage in illegal drugs activity to better stop now, submit yourself to authorities for rehabilitation because if you continue, you will end up in jail,” said PRO-6 director Police Brig. Gen. Flynn Dongbo in a statement.

Police Lt. Col. Arnel Solis, PRO-6 spokesperson, said the suspects are facing a case for violating Republic Act No. 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.

The suspects were arrested by the PRO-6 Regional Drug Enforcement Unit 6 and Iloilo City Police Office (ICPO-Station 4).
