Jewelry never fails to capture the charm of the world's natural wonders

Check out the latest on high jewelry inspired by the beauty of nature

If there is an ultimate muse for artists, it is nature. For years, the Earth’s natural wonders have been the subject of many artworks, from visual arts to literary forms like haiku and poems. Another artisanal craft that continues to champion its charm is jewelry. A timeless, wearable piece, jewelry, much like nature, never goes out of style. That is why jewelry pieces with designs hailed from nature’s beauty are the perfect treasure to keep, and even passed on to loved ones.

This season, luxury jewelers around the world continue to pay homage to the many natural wonders of the world. Check out their latest releases below:

Grand Soir Libellule watch

Dior

French luxury house Dior channels the opulence of ball for its latest high timepiece collection. Among its hero pieces is the Grand Soir Libellule watch made of white gold, diamonds, and ornamental stones. It features a dragonfly in its dial made of yellow gold, sapphires, emeralds, and amethyst with mother-of-pearl and featherwork. Taking the design into a full circle a delicate libellule (dragonfly) engraving on the back of the watch.

Another winged insect is in the spotlight, this time, with the UK-based jeweler De Beers. For its latest collection dubbed “Portraits of Nature,” the company takes inspiration from the transformative symbolism of the butterfly. The creature’s wings are mimicked through iridescent jewelry pieces. The collection also marks the 20th anniversary of the brand’s conservation initiative, the Diamond Route.

Nouchali necklace

Cartier

For its “Beautés Du Monde” high jewelry collection, Cartier takes inspiration from exotic flora and fauna and reimagines them into pieces with attention to lines, geometry, and abstraction. One of its pieces, the Nouchali necklace, captures the water lily through a 10.61-carat cabochon-cut rubellite gem surrounded by diamond petals with onyx. Another charming piece is the Iwana, a platinum neck piece with three hexagonal-shaped cabochon-cut emeralds from Colombia echoing the green look of the iguana.

Chaumet

Chaumet dives deep into the submerged beauty of the Earth to bring to life its “Ondes et Merveilles” collection. For the first time, the luxury label has dedicated an entire high jewelry collection to the sea. Its “On the Water’s Surface”, “Gulfstream,” and “Breaking Wave” jewelry sets evoke a vast sea in motion as a true ode to life.
