Voter registration now available in 30 malls through Comelec, Robinsons Malls partnership


The Commission on Elections (Comelec) held a ceremonial signing of an agreement on Tuesday, July 19 with Robinsons Malls seeking to make voter registration more accessible and convenient.

According to the poll body, through the agreement, voter registration will run in 30 Robinsons Malls nationwide until July 23. Comelec Commissioner Aimee Ferolino expressed gratitude to Robinsons Malls for helping them provide a comfortable space to conduct the voter registration.

Being a former poll officer, Ferolino recalled how hard it is to conduct voter registration in their office where there is minimal space with no area for people to line up exposing them to the elements such as the rain.

"This is the most convenient place to conduct the registration," she added.

Comelec recently announced the resumption of Voter's Registration for new voters, accommodation for transfer/change/correction of entries, reactivation and reinstatement and inclusion of registration records.

Voter's registration will be conducted until July 23 at the following Robinsons Malls nationwide, namely: Robinsons Galleria, Robinsons Magnolia, Robinsons Metro East, Robinsons Cainta, Robinsons Place Antipolo, Robinsons Place Pangasinan, Robinsons Place Santiago, Robinsons Place Malolos, Robinsons Starmills Pampanga, Robinsons Place Angeles, Robinsons Town Mall Malabon, Robinsons Place General Trias in Cavite, Robinsons Tagaytay, Robinsons Place Lipa, Robinsons Place Palawan, Robinsons Place Bacolod, Robinsons Place Roxas, Robinsons Place Antique, Robinsons Place Dumaguete, Robinsons Galleria Cebu Robinsons Place Tacloban, Robinsons North Tacloban, Robinsons Place GenSan, Robinsons Place Valencia, Robinsons Cagayan de Oro and Robinsons Place Iligan.

Residents from Manila may register at Robinsons Place Manila and Robinsons Otis. Robinsons Cybergate Cebu and Robinsons Place Pavia recently concluded its voter's registration.

"With this partnership, COMELEC is targeting new voters for the Sangguniang Kabataan (SK) polls to register during the registration period,"Comelec spokesperson John Rex Laudiangco said in a statement.

"Robinsons Malls continues to actively participate in various efforts of COMELEC and other government agencies through our Robinsons Malls Lingkod Pinoy Centers nationwide," Ms. Arlene G. Magtibay, RLC Senior Vice President and Business Unit General Manager said.

More than 1.5 million applications for voter registration have so far been received by Comelec.
