Police arrested a 22-year-old man who is listed as the No. 8 most wanted person in Taguig and tagged as a member of a criminal group.
Southern Police District director Brig. Gen. Jimil Macaraeg identified the suspect as Rodnel Layug.
Macaraeg said Layug is allegedly a member of the Bobby Arao Robbery Hold-Up Criminal Group for the first quarter of 2022.
Operatives from the Taguig police’s Warrant and Subpoena Unit together with the Intelligence Section conducted a manhunt operation against most wanted persons that resulted in Layug’s arrest.
According to the police, Layug is the top 8 most wanted person in Taguig for violation of Republic Act 10883 (New Anti-Carnapping Act of 2016).
Presiding Judge Loralie Cruz Datahan of Taguig Regional Trial Court Branch 69 issued a warrant of arrest against Layug on June 1.
“I congratulate our authorities for their relentless effort to go after the most wanted personalities in our area,” said Macaraeg.
