QC LGU warns public vs. medical certificates with wrong signatory

The Quezon City government on Monday, July 18, warned its residents against securing medical certificates bearing the name of one of its medical technologists posing as the certifying physician.

It said that the City Health Department (CHD) was notified of the medical certificates with the signature of the medical technologist identified as Bernard Yumang.

“Please be informed that medical technologists are not authorized to issue medical certificates, thus any medical certification bearing Mr. Yumang's name is therefore considered invalid and should not be honored,” the local government said in a Facebook post.

It added that all medical certificates with the Quezon City Health Department's logo are only issued in the city’s 66 health centers.

The city urged its residents to report individuals issuing the said certificates to the CHD ([email protected]).
