BALBALAN, Kalinga – A construction worker who was listed number one most wanted person in this town for the crime of rape was arrested on Monday, July 18, here.
Balbalan Municipal Police Station identified the suspect as Herman Mayao Agnas, 60, a resident of Barangay Gawa-an in this town.
Capt. Benjo Torres, chief of police, served the suspect a warrant of arrest issued by Judge Randy Bulwayan Regional Trial Court’s Branch 39 in Lubuagan, Kalinga for violating the Anti-Rape Law of 1997 (Republic Act 8353).
No bail was recommended.
On April 7, 2022 in Barangay Gawa-an Proper, Balbalan, Kalinga, Agnas allegedly sexually abused a minor victim by threatening her with a bolo.
Agnas had since been listed as number one most wanted for 2nd Quarter CY 2022 in the municipal level.
The arresting team used an alternative recording device during the execution of the arrest warrant against the suspect.
