MB Daily News Update: About 27 million Filipinos are obese – PH Nutrition Council


Almost four out of 10 adult Filipinos are obese, according to the Philippine Nutrition Council. And consumption of unhealthy, junk food is largely to blame.

President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. sees no need for a law that will require the administration of booster shots for Filipinos. This, as the OCTA Research Group reported that the Covid-19 positivity rates in five provinces are now over 20 percent.

China said it was “negotiating technical issues” with the Philippines over some infrastructure projects, and gave the assurance that it was willing to discuss future projects under the new administration.

Meanwhile, more than 200 nurses and health care workers were deployed to Japan the past week, according to the Japanese embassy in the Philippines.
