Fil-Am trails by 14 after three rounds in British Open

Justin De Los Santos shot a two-under-par 70 for a share at 55th place after three rounds in the British Open 2022 in St Andrews Saturday (Sunday in Manila)

De Los Santos fired four birdies against a double bogey on the par-four second hole for a three-round total of 214, 14 strokes behind co-leaders Viktor Hovland and Rory Mc Ilroy.

The Fil-American had earlier rounds of 71 and 73.

Hovland and McIlroy grabbed the top leaderboard from second-round leader Cameron Smith of Australia after carding identical 66s.

Hovland had a bogey-free round while firing six birdies including four on the front nine, while McIlroy highlighted his round with an eagle 2 on the 10th apart from five birdies and a bogey on the 17th.

Smith trailed by four strokes and slipped to a share of third with American Cameron Young with a 73 for 204. Young, for his part, shot a 71.
