Knowledge Channel Foundation Inc. (KCFI) explores more partnerships with industry-leading brands from banking and technology plus non-profit agencies to ensure accessible yet quality education for Filipino children, help equip educators in today’s hybrid schooling set-up, and instill Filipino values to the youth.
To bolster its continuous “School at Home” distance-learning efforts and childhood development initiatives, Knowledge Channel links with BDO Foundation and Huawei Technologies to produce fun and interactive video lessons in teaching early mathematics to Grade 1 students, aligned to the curriculum of the Department of Education (DepEd).
In attendance for KCFI during the memorandum of agreement (MoA) signing are president and executive director Rina Lopez-Bautista, and director for operations Edric Calma, together with BDO Foundation president Mario Deriquito, Huawei’s human resources director Peter Zhang, and corresponding officials from DepEd.
The collaborative video project, which commenced in June, is set to wrap up production in March 2023 and will be available on Knowledge Channel’s online, offline, and on-air platforms.
Prior to the ongoing collaboration, KCFI and BDO Foundation, alongside DepEd and Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP), first worked on “Financial Education,” featuring video lessons teaching the importance of financial responsibility at an early age.
Apart from producing shows, the link-up also aims to train educators from 100 public schools nationwide in teaching in today’s hybrid setting, with the “Knowledge Channel Teaching in the New Normal” running until December 2022.
The three-day online training program seeks to equip teachers and principals with the right tools and methods to cope with teaching their students amid today’s limitations caused by the ongoing pandemic.
Knowledge Channel also partnered with Isla Lipana & Co. Foundation, Inc. (ILCFI) in instilling Filipino values to children with the latter’s “Our Values Photo-Story Contest.” Under the agreement signed by execs from both parties, the entries from various high school and college entrants will be included in the Knowledge Channel Portable Media Library (KCPML) as added resources.
