PNP extends help to Banaue flash floods victims


BANAUE, Ifugao – Some 1,080 families affected by flash floods and mudslides in Banaue, Ifugao last July 7 received relief goods from the Office of the Chief of Philippine National Police, Officer in Charge Lt/Gen. Vicente Danao, Jr. 

The relief goods were distributed by personnel of the Ifugao Provincial Police Office headed by Col. James Mangili on July 14.

With three trucks loaded with relief goods, the group convoyed to two neighboring Barangays of Amganad and Tam-an, Banaue, Ifugao, for distribution. PNP personnel personally distributed the relief goods to the affected families.

The PNP personnel also distributed relief goods in Barangay Uhaj, Barangay Viewpoint, Brgys. Bocos and Poitan, as well as Barangay Poblacion.

On July 7, 2022, the municipality was hit by heavy rains that caused flash floods and landslides in Barangays Uhaj, Gohang, Viewpoint, Amganad, and Tam-an. The mudslides spread to Barangays Poblacion, Bocos, and Poitan. 

Houses, vehicles, rice fields, gardens, livestock, commercial establishments and roads were all affected.
