Four wanted for statutory rape arrested in Cordillera


LA TRINIDAD, Benguet- Four individuals wanted for statutory rape and abuse of minors were arrested by police in separate areas in the Cordillera region, on July 13.

According to Capt. Marnie Abellanida, deputy regional information officer of the Regional Police Office-Cordillera, personnel of Baguio City Police Office arrested Roel Aberin Salude, 46, at his house in Barangay Cabisilan, Bauang, La Union.

He was arrested on a warrant of arrest for three counts of statutory rape issued by Judge Modesto Bahul, Jr., of Family Court, First Judicial Region, Branch 2, Baguio City.

Salude was considered the No.3 regional top most wanted person and number 2 most wanted person in Baguio City.

Joint operatives of La Trinidad Municipal Police Station and Regional Intelligence Division arrested farmer Rodolf Abiadew Tacdoy, Sr., 37, of Wangal, La Trinidad, Benguet, for three counts of statutory rape.

The arrest warrant against Tacdoy, considered No.1 most wanted person in Benguet, was issued by Judge Marietta Brawner-Cualing, of Branch 9, RTC, La Trinidad, Benguet.

Miner Johnny Islao Tao-il, 33, of Sitio Banat, Brgy. San Ramon East, Manabo, Abra, did not resist when he was arrested by personnel of Abra Provincial Police Office for statutory rape case filed in the sala of Judge Elizabeth Garcia Bringas, of Branch 58, RTC, Bucay, Abra.  

Tao-il was listed as No.1 Municipal TMWP and No.2 Provincial TMWP in the third quarter of 2022.

Sammy Bat-on Paniyo, 21, laborer, of Sitio Tih-giyan, Ubuag, Hingyon, Ifugao was arrested in a similar case filed at the sala of Judge Romeo Habbiling, of Branch 14, RTC, Lagawe, Ifugao.
