Students and teachers expressed their sentiments on Twitter after the Department of Education (DepEd) announced the calendar for the school year 2022-2023.

On Tuesday, July 12, DepEd said that next school year will begin on Aug. 22, 2022 and end on July 7, 2023.

After the announcement, "DepEd" immediately trended on the social media platform with the netizens calling out the department and asking for a longer "mental and physical health" break in line with the just recently concluded school year.

Here are some of the top "DepEd" tweets as of writing.

"Deped doesn't know the word vacation. you dont (sic) know the feelings of teachers who are tired physically and mentally. Ano tingin nyo smin robot! (Do you think we are robots!)" Tweeted @mmeij_.

According to DepEd, the incoming school calendar will consist of 203 school days and they are committed to the resumption of five-day-a-week classes.

Blended learning and full distance learning will end on Oct. 31 and full face-to-face classes will start on Nov. 2 as per DepEd.
