Blacklist International stamped its class and ruled the IESF Sibol qualifiers, defeating MHRLK Esports in the finals 2-1 on Sunday, July 10.
The quintet of Jonmar “OhmyV33nus” Villaluna, Danerie “Wise” Del Rosario, Salic “Hadji” Imam, Kiel “Oheb” Soriano and Edward “EDWARD” Dapadap, who last played together when they won the M3 World Championship, will lead the pool of players in the three-day Sibol combine which starts on Friday, July 15.
They will be joined by Yue, Dr1nsanity, Enayexxx, Cyy, and 2k.C4 of the second placers MHRLK Esports. Out of the 10 players in the pool, the members of the Sibol national team will be selected for the IESF World Esports Championship in Bali, Indonesia with Blacklist head coach Kristoffer “Bon Chan” Ricaplaza at the helm.
Blacklist’s winning run however didn’t come without a huge scare, first when Euphoria Esports had the M3 champions on the ropes with a Game 1 win in their best-of-three semifinals match. With Bon Chan’s adjustments and OhmyV33nus shot calls, Blacklist overcame the gallant stand from Euphoria to come away with 2-1 reverse sweep to advance to the finals.
The Codebreakers also had their hands full against MHRLK Esports who managed to tie the game and force the decider in the finals.
MHRLK defeated ECHO Loud which was composed of MPL players led by the trio of Benny “BennyQt” Gonzales, Tristan “Yawi” Cabrera and Karl “Karltzy” Nepomuceno in the semifinals to book a spot to the combine.
