Dining meets art at Crimson Resort and Spa Boracay as it brings back its much-lauded Art on a Plate dinner event at the Mosaic Latin American Grill.

Happening until July 9, the gastronomic experience puts in the spotlight the works of Hapag MNL’s talented chefs and divinely decadent chocolate creations by award-winning company Auro Chocolates.

As guests dine on inspired and stunningly curated dishes, Crimson Boracay artist-in-residence Eric Egualada leaves them in awe as he creates magnificent visual masterpieces before their very eyes. Plus, to round out this feast for the senses, Sax Diva Nicole Tejedor jazzes up the night with her sultry sound together with guitar virtuoso John Reluya.

Hapag MNL chefs Thirdy Dolatre, Kevin Navoa, and Kevin Villarica, all three of whom have distinguished themselves both here and abroad, are cooking up a storm using world-class chocolate products from AURO Chocolates.

The menu starts off with the culinary team’s take on classic Visayan sinuglaw, featuring grilled pork belly, fresh-caught tanigue, scallions, and coconut vinegar infused with heady Auro cacao. Diners are then taken on a trip to Mexico as roast chicken is presented on a corn tortilla and artfully sauced with an Auro dark chocolate mole.

The chefs also present their own spin on two local classics: inihaw na sugpo (grilled prawns served with a charred vegetable salad) and kare-kare with beef brisket and tendon cooked till meltingly tender in a cashew-peanut sauce made with Auro cocoa butter.

An eclectic spin on creme brulee featuring local ingredients like sea grapes (lato seaweed), fresh pomelo from Davao, and AURO white chocolate provides a splendid ending to the meal.

The gustatory experience that is Art on a Plate starts at 6 p.m. and is priced at P3,000 for dinner plus a welcome cocktail, and P3,900 for dinner paired with an expertly chosen selection of wines.
