'Yu-Gi-Oh!' manga creator's body found floating in Okinawa - reports

The body of "Yu-Gi-Oh!" manga creator Kazuki Takahashi was found floating off the coast of Nago City on Okinawa Island, Japanese public broadcaster NHK reported on Thursday, July 7.

Japanese Coast guards found Kazuki's body floating around the shallow waters while wearing snorkeling gear on July 6 around 10:30 a.m.

The Nago City branch of the Japan Coast Guard, along with police, are investigating the circumstances of Takahashi’s death.

Yu-Gi-Oh! was Takahashi's first series, launched in 1996. After making the series, Takahashi focused on being the supervisor and creator of the manga. He was also one of the creators of the Yu-Gi-Oh! The Dark Side of Dimensions anime film in 2016. 

He won the Inkpot Award at the Comic-con International in 2015. Takahashi's Yu-Gi-Ohhas been a huge part of the culture around the world.
