GUINAYANGAN, Quezon – A 17-year-old boy died after he was punched by his friend following an overnight stay in a resort in Barangay Dancalan Central, this town, Wednesday, July 6.
The Police Regional Office (PRO) 4-A identified the victim as Marck Alfred Deocalos of Barangay Calimpac, this town.
The suspect, Warren de Guzman, 19, of Barangay Mangagawa here, was arrested by police in a pursuit operation.
Investigation by the Guinayangan police said the victim, the suspect, and another friend arrived at the Montecalvo Beach Resort at 6:15 a.m. and had an overnight party.
The next morning, the victim woke up the suspect who had fallen asleep after getting drunk.
But for unknown reason and without provocation, the suspect suddenly punched the victim in the throat.
Their friend rushed Deocalos to the Guinayangan Medicare Community Hospital but the attending physician declared him dead on arrival.
The investigator took the statement of the victim’s friend for the filing of appropriate criminal case against the suspect.
