Police arrest man minutes after killing common-law wife in Isabela

ISABELA – A man who allegedly killed his 20-year old live-in partner on Sunday, July 3, fell into the hands of the pursuing authorities minutes after committing the gruesome murder in Luna, Isabela.

Police identified the suspect as Louie Desamito, 30, of Barangay Luyao, Luna, Isabela.

Police report stated that about 6:30 p.m. of July 3, 2022, a shooting incident transpired in barangay Luyao, Luna, Isabela wherein the victim was identified as Lyka Mae Asirit, 20, of Brgy San Isidro of the same town.

The immediate arrival of Philippine National Police personnel resulted in the arrest of the suspect who was then about to board his motorcycle to escape.

Investigation revealed that the suspect and the victim (live-in partner) had had a heated argument regarding their relationship.

Without any provocation, the suspect shot the victim on the head that caused her instantaneous death.

Police recovered four empty shells of Cal. 45 at the crime scene.

A case of murder will be filed against the suspect, the police said.
