Onic ID welcomes Yeb, Kairi; PH squad releases Baloyskie, Markyyy

Onic Esports of Indonesia announced its acquisition of former Onic Philippines head coach Denver “Yeb” Miranda and star jungler Kairi “Kairi” Rayosdelsol while the Filipino team continued with its surprising moves after releasing captain Allen “Baloyskie” Baloy and gold laner Marky “Markyyy” Carpacio.

In a press conference in Indonesia, Onic Esports welcomed Kairi and coach Yeb with the former expressing his excitement in taking the challenge in the uncharted territory. The Filipino phenom also revealed what made him decide to take his act in the neighboring MPL region.

“I actually got in Indonesia because my parents are okay to let me go due to Coach Yeb. And also, it’s a good opportunity for me to grow and I’m actually very excited for MPL S10 because the meta has changed and I get the chance to face the other junglers in the scene,” said Kairi during the presser.

“I’m actually interested to play in Indonesia because ML is bigger here than the Philippines and I think I can grow and learn a lot. It’s a good opportunity for me because I haven’t won a championship yet and I want to face the Philippines in M4,” he added as he hopes to boost the already potent Onic roster and reach new heights come Season 10.

With the addition of a veteran tactician in coach Yeb and a mechanically gifted jungler in Kairi, Onic looked formidable as it tries to regain the MPL Indonesia title which it won back in Season 8. The team is also aiming for a return trip to the M-series World Championships set in January next year.

While things are starting to flourish well with Onic ID, the same cannot be said for its MPL PH counterpart which seemed to be in disarray with its recent decisions – the latest were the releases of Baloyskie and Markyyy from its lineup.

Although the team made it known that they are not disbanding and pulling out in the MPL PH, fans remain clueless of their plans as they have yet to introduce new players with the roster lock for teams set on July 8.
